I've lived with the 430X for nearly 2 years now so I know a thing or two about it. If you don't want to read on, here's my short take on the 430X: The 430X is a fantastic mower. It has performed flawlessly ever since it was installed. Proper setup takes a little time but once you've got it set up, the 430X just plain works. I have not had any issues with the 430X that were not installation related or user error on my part. My 430X has over 400 hours on it now and has not malfunctioned even once. The only thing that makes the 430X better is adding the Husqvarna Connect module as it adds a layer of control that at first I thought I would not want but later realized that I did. Now for the long review. The 430X is Husqvarna's middle of the road automower. It slots in between the least expensive 315 and the most expensive 450X. It's rated for 0. It does not come standard with Husqvarna Connect, but it is upgradeable. Out of the box, the 430X is much larger than the 315. It weighs quite a bit more, too. Installation is pretty straightforward, and the machine comes preconfigured out of the box with settings that will suit all but the most complex lawns. My lawn is a little complicated and the mower has to traverse two very narrow corridors in order to get out into my main yard on either side. The corridor is barely wider than the machine itself. If I set the corridor width to any number larger than 0, the mower would run to one side of the guide wire or the other and run into the perimeter wire and become confused and turn around. This is not a fault of the machine. It's actually amazing that you can specify such granular control over how it runs out into your yard. The other thing about the 430X is that when Husqvarna says it can mow 0. I bet it can actually mow more. I say this because I have around 0. What I found was the the mower was so efficient and covered so much ground that it actually over-mowed my lawn. There's a guide in the installation manual that tells you how often to run the mower based on lawn size. I suggest you follow the suggestions. The cut is even and my grass looks great. Although you can program the mower to go beyond the perimeter wire and supposedly cut all the way to the edge of the lawn, if I had the mower do this, it would fall off the curb in my front yard. It's not the mower's fault that this is the way my yard is set up, and I've not been able to find a way to have the mower cut all the way to the edges of my yard. What this means is that once a month I do have to edge my yard. It takes 15 minutes and I am perfectly OK with that. The other thing to note is that the automower, while it is designed to get rained on from above, it is not designed to get rained on from below as would happen if it ran over a sprinkler head while the sprinklers were running. You will want to coordinate your mower's schedule to make sure that the mower is parked when your sprinklers are set to run. I have the mower run from 8am-7:30pm and have my sprinklers turn on at 8pm. This seems to work well for me. Finally, Husqvarna recommends changing blades every 90 days and this is fine. However, I've found that if I replace the blades every month, I see a noticeably better cut. The blades are really cheap, so I figured why not just change 'em more often. Overall, I have never been more satisfied with a purchase. The 430X does exactly what it says it can do. My neighbors think it's the coolest thing ever and I am really happy that I never have to mow my lawn. It is a very unobtrusive device and once it's set up properly, you would never even know it was there. I really could not ask for more. This was well worth the purchase price.
